The Requirement
Tate were looking for opportunities to differentiate themselves through the provision of additional services in a very competitive market.

The opportunity arose to provide one of their clients with on line ordering. However the brief called for functionality not normally associated with e-commerce solutions. In particular they needed:

• Multi-Shop facilities so that each client could have their own shop with some branding
• Complex and contract specific pricing integrated with their Access Accounts Dimensions business system
• Min/Max order levels by volume or value dependant on the product or product group
• Workflow with email notification to allow orders over defined values to be authorised with multiple levels
• Potentially the facility to update address and contact details within the accounts system as users maintained them on the web

In addition they required the adaptation of their recently revised corporate image to both their marketing web site and the new e-commerce site - and all must be user maintainable.
