Database

They don't have any specific database of their own. Instead their results are drawn from a variety of sources. The main results are drawn from the Google database, and are probably using a specific filter designed by AOL.

Paid Listings

The "sponsored listings" are drawn from the Google AdWords Select advertising program. They were previously drawn from Overture paid results.

Directory

The "narrow your search" results at the bottom are drawn from relevant categories in the ODP.
