Yahoo UK are a quite separate proposition to Yahoo US (.com), their parent company. The Yahoo UK site looks different, has different facilities available, and has its own partnerships, and is quite distinct from the US parent site. The UK results are broken down into just 3 sections :

The Web

Inside Yahoo - not always present

Links to relevant information contained in one of the many Yahoo web properties. Examples include suggested categories from the directory, news results, or their own specialist portals, ie hotels, airline booking, maps.

Direct Category Matches - not always present

A display of any directory categories that Yahoo has detected as being related to your search

Sponsored matches - not always present

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) listings supplied by Espotting. Unusually, the cost to the advertiser is not displayed. If they are available, the first 4 Espotting matches will be displayed in the top sponsored section, and numbers 5 and 6 will display in a "More Sponsor Results" section below the main listings.

Web matches

In Yahoo UK, this can have 3 possible settings, "search all sites", "UK only" and "Ireland only". "Search all sites" uses the main Google database, with additions from the Yahoo UK directory. "UK only" uses Google UK results, with all non-.uk domains removed, then Yahoo UK directory results added. "Ireland only" does much the same for .ie domains

Virtually identical to the "The Web" results section, with the sole exception that no Google results are used

News

Using the same technology as the main Yahoo news results, but using their own, separate database of news feeds
